Abstract

Description

This project investigates active adaptolates—self-propelled particles that can modify their shape or interactions in response to environmental conditions. Through large-scale molecular dynamics simulations, we demonstrate how motility-induced phase separation leads to the formation of percolating structures whose packing geometry adapts dynamically to particle activity and density. The simulations reveal a rich phase behavior including homogeneous, clustered, and percolating states, with structural transitions controlled by the interplay between self-propulsion strength, rotational diffusion, and external periodic potentials. Our findings provide insights into designing active matter systems with tunable structural and mechanical properties. This folder contains simulation, analysis codes, and data from this project.
