Videos of the Numerical Simulation of Single Drop Impingement onto Smooth, Superheated Walls
Description
Videos of the numerical simulation of single drop impingement onto smooth, superheated walls. The videos show the following cases: axisymmetric (2D) and quarter drop (3D). Impact parameters such as initial drop diameter, impact velocity, and wall superheat are 1.14 mm, 0.54 m/s, and 9.8 K, respectively. Dimensionless numbers such as Reynolds, Weber, Bond, and Jakob numbers are 2230, 62.4, 0.6, and 0.13, respectively. The working fluid is perfluorohexane (FC-72) in a pure vapor atmosphere of the same fluid at ambient pressure. The simulations are carried out in OpenFOAM.
