AFM - One-line measurements - Treated Data (Images)

Abstract

Description

The first image presents the visual output of the cross-sectional analysis performed on stitched AFM data collected in one-line mode. It displays profiles for height, adhesion, dissipation, and Young’s modulus, each averaged across 128 adjacent cross-sections. The height profile has been normalized to its initial value of 486 nm at 5.7% RH to highlight relative changes during humidity cycling. The data shown in this image were processed and exported from Gwyddion, with final formatting and annotation completed in Igor Pro. The second image shows two representative force–distance curves acquired at 70% and 90% relative humidity (RH) during PeakForce Tapping mode measurements on the polymer edge. The curves illustrate changes in mechanical response under different humidity conditions, highlighting variations in force interaction with the surface. Data were extracted from individual force curves taken from the one-line mode scans and plotted for direct comparison. The figure provides a qualitative assessment of the humidity-dependent behavior of the sample surface. The third image integrates the previous two images from the AFM study and a schematic illustration of the AFM measurement setup in “one-line mode,” showing the probe repeatedly scanning a fixed line on the polymer edge while the relative humidity is cycled.
