Description

The dataset links data for the publication "Optical characterization of the strain distribution along glued-in rod connections in laminated bamboo lumber for varying fiber-to-rod angles". The dataset consists of raw machine data generated during the mechanical characterization of half-sized specimens with glued-in threaded steel rods (GiR) in laminated bamboo lumber (LBL). The half-sized geometry consists of a halved base body (LBL) into which a rod is bonded over half its circumference. The specimens were conditioned under standard climate conditions (20°C and 65% r.h.) and then tested under laboratory conditions with regard to the pull-out behavior of the rod. The designation EPX refers to the two-component epoxy resin adhesive, and PUR to the two-component polyurethane adhesive used in the preparation process. The specimens labeled “LBL-h-” represent the 0° direction, where the rod is bonded in the fiber direction (0°, vertical). The designation “LBL-h-XX-T90” refers to the 90° transverse (T) specimens, and “LBL-h-XX-H90” refers to the 90° horizontal (H) specimens (an illustration of the orientations can be found in the publication to which this dataset is assigned). In addition, there is an overview file in which the most important material parameters from the tests are compiled and in which mean values, standard deviations, and coefficients of variation (COV) were calculated. The overview file also defines the failure modes and assigns the predominant failure mode to the individual tests.
