Numerical investigation of successively nucleating bubbles during subcooled flow boiling of FC72 in microgravity

Abstract

Description

The item contains the secondary data and the Matlab code to generate the diagrams from the associated paper. The structure is reference - for the reference case velocities - for velocity variation heatFlux - for the heat flux and pre-heating time variation subcooling - for the subcooling variation and volumes - for the volume evolution diagrams heat transfer - for the sensible and contact line heat flow and the wall temperature diagrams All secondary data except for the sensible heat flow have been extracted from the simulation log-files. Time_0_... contains the time vector for the related average volume fraction in alpha_total..., Condensation heat flow in mCond..., evaporation heat flow in mEvap... and wall superheat in WallSuperheat. TimeCl... contains the time vector for the related contact line heat flow in Qcl... The data for sensible heat flow has been extracted from ParaView postprocessing and can be found in the subfolder Data_2mmClip_... The file CellData contains all field extracted from ParaView, the evaluated sensible heat flow can be found in the first paragraph. The file times contains the related time vector. In volumes, an exception is made for 15000 W/m² input heat flux as well as for 20s and 30s pre-heating time. Here, volumes are determined by an inhouse OpenFOAM post-processing utility and times and volumes are read directly from the files bubbleVolumes_15000W, bubbleVolumes_20s and bubbleVolumes_30s.
