dc.description This data article presents a dataset documenting the fragmentation behaviour of fully toughened soda-lime-silica glass plates of 4 mm and 8 mm nominal thickness across surface compressive pre-stress levels from 88 MPa to 158 MPa, thereby covering the high pre-stress domain that has so far been only sparsely characterized experimentally. For each specimen the dataset contains the specimen properties (measured surface compressive pre-stress obtained with a SCALP-05 scattered-light polariscope, nominal thickness and plate size), a high-resolution two-dimensional image of the complete fracture pattern, vector contour information of all extracted fragments, and the corresponding mean fragment density and mean fragment perimeter. In addition, STL mesh files reconstructed from micro-CT scans of representative fragments are provided from 4 mm, 8 mm and 12 mm thick glass plates to make the three-dimensional fracture-surface geometry available for further analysis. The dataset can be reused to validate fragmentation and numerical fracture models for brittle materials, to develop or benchmark computer-vision pipelines for fracture-pattern analysis, to investigate energy–morphology scaling laws beyond the range of existing standards, and to support the calibration of safety classifications for thermally toughened architectural glass.
