Videos of the Numerical Simulation of Drop Array Impingement onto Smooth, Superheated Walls
Description
Videos of the numerical simulation of drop array impingement onto smooth, superheated walls. The videos show the following cases: drop array impingement with a spacing of 1.18, 2.15, and 3.33. Impact parameters such as initial drop diameter, impact velocity, and wall superheat are 0.93 mm, 0.53 m/s, and 7.3 K, respectively. Dimensionless numbers such as Reynolds, Weber, Bond, and Jakob numbers are 1775, 48.8, 0.4, and 0.09, respectively. The working fluid is perfluorohexane (FC-72) in a pure vapor atmosphere of the same fluid at ambient pressure. The simulations are carried out in OpenFOAM.
