Decision of the Director of Europol

adapting the amounts mentioned in the Europol Staff Regulations to the euro

THE DIRECTOR OF EUROPOL,

Having regard to the Council Decision of 2 December 1999, amending the Council Act of 3 December 1998 laying down the Staff Regulations applicable to Europol employees, with regard to the establishment of remuneration, pensions and other financial entitlements in euro(1), and in particular Article 1(2) thereof,

Whereas:

(1) In accordance with that Decision it is the responsibility of the Director to effect the conversion into euro units of the different financial entitlements referred to in the Staff Regulations applicable to Europol employees (Staff Regulations) laid down by the Council Act of 3 December 1998(2) on the basis of Council Regulation (EC) No 1103/97 of 17 June 1997 on certain provisions relating to the introduction of the euro(3) and Council Regulation (EC) No 2866/98 of 31 December 1998 on the conversion rates between the euro and the currencies of the Member States adopting the euro(4).

(2) The Director shall ensure that the values thus established are published in the Official Journal of the European Communities,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

With effect from 1 July 1999, subsequent to the Council Decision of 2 December 1999 adjusting the remuneration and allowances applicable to Europol employees(5), the value in euro of the different financial entitlements incorporated in the Staff Regulations shall be established as follows:

2. the first amount mentioned in Article 59(3) of the Staff Regulations shall be established at EUR 812,38;

3. the second amount mentioned in Article 59(3) of the Staff Regulations shall be established at EUR 1624,76;

4. the amount mentioned in Article 60(1) of the Staff Regulations shall be established at EUR 216,63;

5. in Appendix 5 to the Staff Regulations:

(a) the amount mentioned in Article 2(1), shall be established at EUR 226,48;

(b) the first amount mentioned in Article 3(1), shall be established at EUR 9847,03;

(c) the second amount mentioned in Article 3(1), shall be established at EUR 2215,58;

(d) the amount mentioned in Article 3(2) shall be established at EUR 13293,49;

(e) the first amount mentioned in Article 4(1), shall be established at EUR 984,70;

(f) the second amount mentioned in Article 4(1), shall be established at EUR 738,53;

(g) the third amount mentioned in Article 4(1), shall be established at EUR 492,35;

(h) the fourth amount mentioned in Article 4(1), shall be established at EUR 393,88;

(i) the first amount mentioned in Article 5, shall be established at EUR 1477,05;

(j) the second amount mentioned in Article 5, shall be established at EUR 1969,41;

(k) the third amount mentioned in Article 5, shall be established at EUR 2461,76;

(l) the amount mentioned in Article 7(3), shall be established at EUR 0,20.

Article 2

This Decision shall be published in the Official Journal of the European Communities.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force the day following its adoption by the Director.
