Communication concerning the amendment of Decision 98/682/EC, Euratom, appointing the members, chairmen and vice-chairmen of the expert groups to assist the Commission on the content and direction of the key actions in the field of research and technological development

By Decision of 29 February 2000 the Commission has decided that, as from that date:

- the persons whose names are listed in Annex I and who are appointed, by Decision 98/682/EC, Euratom(1), as amended by Commission Decision of 26 July 1992(2), members of the expert groups set up by Decision 98/610/EC, Euratom(3), as amended by Decision 1999/506/EC, Euratom(4) are no longer members of those groups,

- the persons whose names are listed in Annex II shall be appointed members of the expert groups set up by Decision 98/610/EC, Euratom, as amended by Decision 1999/506/EC, Euratom, until 20 November 2000,

- the person whose name is listed in Annex III shall be appointed Chairman of the expert group referred to in that Annex,

- the persons referred to in paragraphs 2 and 3 shall comply with the requirements of independence and confidentiality laid down in Annex III of Decision 98/682/EC, Euratom, as amended by Commission Decision of 26 July 1999.
