EUROPEAN COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL RESEARCH (COST) RESOLUTION OF THE COST SENIOR OFFICIALS COMMITTEE concerning the enlargement of COST to the Republics of Croatia and Slovenia (Adopted at the Senior Official's meeting held in Stockholm on 18 June 1992) (92/C 186/02)

THE COST SENIOR OFFICIALS COMMITTEE:

Having regard to the general resolution on scientific and technical research and development projects adopted by the Conference of European Research Ministers on 22 and 23 November 1971,

Having regard to the conclusions of the Committee of Senior Officials on the future role of COST adopted on 23 and 24 June 1986 (1),

Having regard to the resolution of the Council of the European Communities concerning COST and the European Communities adopted on 20 June 1989 (2),

Having regard to the resolution adopted by the Ministers of States participating in COST adopted on 21 November 1991 (3),

Whereas the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia have requested membership of COST;

Whereas scientists in organizations established in the Republics of Croatia and Slovenia already participate in a significant number of COST concerted actions;

CONFIRMS its agreement to the Republics of Croatia and Slovenia joining the COST framework as full members;

WELCOMES the enlargement of COST to the two new members and looks forward to continuing the fruitful collaboration which, at the project level, is already underway;

UNDERTAKES to ensure the rapid integration of the two new COST states into the overall framework of COST cooperation;
