amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 66/2003 of 20 June 2003(1).

(2) Commission Decision 2002/626/EC of 25 July 2002 approving the plan submitted by France for the eradication of classical swine fever from feral pigs in Moselle and Meurthe-et-Moselle(2), is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Commission Decision 2002/788/EC of 10 October 2002 amending Council Directive 82/894/EEC on the notification of animal diseases within the Community(3), is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(4) Commission Decision 2002/791/EC of 10 October 2002 amending for the second time Decision 2002/161/EC as regards the emergency vaccination of feral pigs against classical swine fever in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rheinland-Pfalz(4), is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(5) Commission Decision 2002/807/EC of 15 October 2002 amending Decision 2000/807/EC laying down the codified form and the codes for the notification of animal diseases pursuant to Council Directive 82/894/EEC(5), is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(6) Commission Decision 2002/906/EC of 15 November 2002 amending Decision 2001/783/EC as regards the protection and surveillance zones in relation to bluetongue in Italy(6), is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(7) Commission Decision 2002/975/EC of 12 December 2002 on introducing vaccination to supplement the measures to control infections with low pathogenic avian influenza in Italy and on specific movement control measures(7), is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(8) This Decision is not to apply to Iceland and Liechtenstein,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Chapter I of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as specified in the Annex to this Decision.

Article 2

The texts of Decisions 2002/626/EC, 2002/788/EC, 2002/791/EC, 2002/807/EC, 2002/906/EC and 2002/975/EC in the Norwegian language, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 27 September 2003, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(8).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.

ANNEX

CHAPTER I OF ANNEX I TO THE AGREEMENT SHALL BE AMENDED AS SPECIFIED BELOW:

1. The following indent shall be added in point 10 (Council Directive 82/894/EEC) in part 3.1:

- 32002 D 0788: Commission Decision 2002/788/EC of 10 October 2002 (OJ L 274, 11.10.2002, p. 33).

2. The following shall be added in point 16 (Commission Decision 2000/807/EC) in part 3.2: ,

as amended by:

- 32002 D 0807: Commission Decision 2002/807/EC of 15 October 2002 (OJ L 279, 17.10.2002, p. 50).

3. The following indent shall be added in point 22 (Commission Decision 2001/783/EC) in part 3.2:

- 32002 D 0906: Commission Decision 2002/906/EC of 15 November 2002 (OJ L 313, 16.11.2002, p. 30).

4. The following point shall be inserted after point 25 (Commission Decision 2002/552/EC) in part 3.2:

26. 32002 D 0975: Commission Decision 2002/975/EC of 12 December 2002 on introducing vaccination to supplement the measures to control infections with low pathogenic avian influenza in Italy and on specific movement control measures (OJ L 337, 13.12.2002, p. 87).

5. Under the heading "ACTS OF WHICH THE EFTA STATES AND THE EFTA SURVEILLANCE AUTHORITY SHALL TAKE DUE ACCOUNT", the following indent shall be added in point 15 (Commission Decision 2002/161/EC) in part 3.2:

- 32002 D 0791: Commission Decision 2002/791/EC of 10 October 2002 (OJ L 274, 11.10.2002, p. 40).

6. Under the heading "ACTS OF WHICH THE EFTA STATES AND THE EFTA SURVEILLANCE AUTHORITY SHALL TAKE DUE ACCOUNT", the following point shall be inserted after point 18 (Commission Decision 2002/526/EC) in part 3.2:
