Decision No 5/2002 of the Association Council between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Hungary, of the other part

on delegation of the management of the Protocol on conformity assessment and acceptance of industrial products

THE ASSOCIATION COUNCIL,

Having regard to the Europe Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Hungary, of the other part(1), and in particular Article 108(2) thereof,

Whereas:

(1) The Protocol on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products entered into force on 1 June 2001.

(2) The last paragraph of Article 14 of that Protocol stipulates that the Association Council may delegate its responsibilities under the Protocol, in accordance with Article 108(2) of the Europe Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Sole Article

Without prejudice to the powers conferred on the Association Council by the Europe Agreement, the Association Council hereby authorises the Association Committee to ensure the proper functioning of the Protocol on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products and to adopt the decisions to be taken by the Association Council under that Protocol. Such decisions may be adopted by the Association Committee by means of the written procedure.

The Association Committee shall keep the Association Council informed regarding progress in implementing the said Protocol.
