amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex XX to the Agreement was amended by Decision No 134/2002 of the EEA Joint Committee of 27 September 2002(1).

(2) Commission Decision 2002/231/EC of 18 March 2002 establishing revised ecological criteria for the award of the Community eco-label to footwear and amending Decision 1999/179/EC(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Commission Decision 2002/255/EC of 25 March 2002 establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the Community eco-label to televisions(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Annex XX to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1. the following indent shall be added in point 2eo (Commission Decision 1999/179/EC):

"- 32002 D 0231: Commission Decision 2002/231/EC of 18 March 2002 (OJ L 77, 20.3.2002, p. 50).";

2. the following point shall be inserted after point 2et (Commission Decision 2001/607/EC):

"2eu. 32002 D 0255: Commission Decision 2002/255/EC of 25 March 2002 establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the Community eco-label to televisions (OJ L 87, 4.4.2002, p. 53)."

Article 2

The texts of Decisions 2002/231/EC and 2002/255/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 9 November 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
