Decision of the EEA Joint Committee
No 120/2002
of 27 September 2002
amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 78/2002 of 25 June 2002(1).
(2) Council Directive 2001/88/EC of 23 October 2001 amending Directive 91/630/EEC laying down minimum standards for the protection of pigs(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.
(3) Commission Directive 2001/93/EC of 9 November 2001 amending Directive 91/630/EEC laying down minimum standards for the protection of pigs(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.
(4) This Decision is not to apply to Iceland and Liechtenstein,
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1
The following shall be added in point 5 (Council Directive 91/630/EEC) in part 9.1 of Chapter I of Annex I to the Agreement:
", as amended by:
- 32001 L 0088: Council Directive 2001/88/EC of 23 October 2001 (OJ L 316, 1.12.2001, p. 1),
- 32001 L 0093: Commission Directive 2001/93/EC of 9 November 2001 (OJ L 316, 1.12.2001, p. 36)."
Article 2
The texts of Directives 2001/88/EC and 2001/93/EC in the Norwegian language, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 5 October 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
