Decision of the EEA Joint Committee
No 113/2002
of 27 September 2002
amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 78/2002 of 25 June 2002(1).
(2) Commission Decision 2001/812/EC of 21 November 2001 laying down the requirements for the approval of border inspection posts responsible for veterinary checks on products introduced into the Community from third countries(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.
(3) Decision 2001/812/EC repeals Commission Decision 92/525/EEC(3), which is incorporated into the Agreement and which is consequently to be deleted from the Agreement.
(4) This Decision is not to apply to Liechtenstein,
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1
Part 1.2 of Chapter I of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:
1. The text of point 13 (Commission Decision 92/525/EEC) shall be deleted.
2. The following point shall be inserted after point 110 (Commission Decision 2001/25/EC):
"111. 32001 D 0812: Commission Decision 2001/812/EC of 21 November 2001 laying down the requirements for the approval of border inspection posts responsible for veterinary checks on products introduced into the Community from third countries (OJ L 306, 23.11.2001, p. 28).
This act applies also to Iceland for the areas covered by the specific acts to which reference is made in paragraph 2 of the Introductory Part."
Article 2
The texts of Decision 2001/812/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 28 September 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
