amending Annex XXI (Statistics) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex XXI to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 65/2002 of 31 May 2002(1).

(2) The adaptations to Council Regulation (EEC) No 571/88 of 29 February 1988 on the organisation of Community surveys on the structure of agricultural holdings between 1988 and 1997(2), as last amended by Council Regulation (EC) No 2467/96 of 17 December 1996 amending Regulation (EEC) No 571/88 on the organisation of Community surveys on the structure of agricultural holdings(3), incorporated into the Agreement through Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 13/1999 of 29 January 1999(4) are to be amended,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Point 23 (Council Regulation (EEC) No 571/88) of Annex XXI to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1. The text of adaptation (d) shall be replaced with the following:

"Articles 10, 12 and 13, and Annex II are not relevant for Iceland and Liechtenstein. Article 13 is not relevant for Norway."

2. The text of adaptation (h) shall be replaced with the following:

"Liechtenstein and Iceland shall not be bound by the typology referred to in Articles 6, 7, 8, 9 and Annex I. However, Liechtenstein and Iceland shall transmit the necessary additional information allowing the reclassification according to this typology."

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on 26 June 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(5).

Article 3

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
