No 55/2002

of 31 May 2002

amending Annex VI (Social security) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex VI to the Agreement was amended by Decision No 36/2002 of the EEA Joint Committee of 19 April 2002(1).

(2) Decision of the Administrative Commission of the European Communities on Social Security for Migrant Workers No 181 of 13 December 2000 concerning the interpretation of Articles 14(1), 14a(1) and 14b(1) and (2) of Council Regulation (EEC) No 1408/71 on the legislation applicable to posted workers and self-employed workers temporarily working outside the competent State(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Decision of the Administrative Commission of the European Communities on Social Security for Migrant Workers No 182 of 13 December 2000, concerning the establishment of a common framework for the collection of data on the settlement of pension claims(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

The following points shall be inserted after point 3.58 (Decision No 180) of Annex VI to the Agreement: "3.59. 32001 D 0891: Decision of the Administrative Commission of the European Communities on Social Security for Migrant Workers No 181 of 13 December 2000 concerning the interpretation of Articles 14(1), 14a(1) and 14b(1) and (2) of Council Regulation (EEC) No 1408/71 on the legislation applicable to posted workers and self-employed workers temporarily working outside the competent State (OJ L 329, 14.12.2001, p. 73),

3.60. 32001 D 0655: Decision of the Administrative Commission of the European Communities on Social Security for Migrant Workers No 182 of 13 December 2000, concerning the establishment of a common framework for the collection of data on the settlement of pension claims (OJ L 230, 28.8.2001, p. 20)."

Article 2

The texts of Decisions Nos 181 and 182 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 1 June 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
