amending Annex XXI (Statistics) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex XXI to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 25/2002 of 1 March 2002(1).

(2) Commission Regulation (EC) No 1920/2001 of 28 September 2001 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 2494/95 as regards minimum standards for the treatment of service charges proportional to transaction values in the harmonised index of consumer prices and amending Regulation (EC) No 2214/96(2), as corrected by OJ L 295, 13.11.2001, p. 34, is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Commission Regulation (EC) No 1921/2001 of 28 September 2001 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 2494/95 as regards minimum standards for revisions of the harmonised index of consumer prices and amending Regulation (EC) No 2602/2000(3), as corrected by OJ L 295, 13.11. 2001, p. 34, is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Annex XXI to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1. The following indent shall be added in point 19c (Commission Regulation (EC) No 2214/96):

"- 32001 R 1920: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1920/2001 of 28 September 2001 (OJ L 261, 29.9.2001, p. 46), as corrected by OJ L 295, 13.11.2001, p. 34."

2. The following shall be added in point 19l (Commission Regulation (EC) No 2602/2000):

", as amended by:

- 32001 R 1921: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1921/2001 of 28 September 2001 (OJ L 261, 29.9.2001, p. 49), as corrected by OJ L 295, 13.11.2001, p. 34."

3. The following points shall be inserted after point 19l (Commission Regulation (EC) No 2602/2000):

"19m. 32001 R 1920: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1920/2001 of 28 September 2001 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 2494/95 as regards minimum standards for the treatment of service charges proportional to transaction values in the harmonised index of consumer prices and amending Regulation (EC) No 2214/96 (OJ L 261, 29.9.2001, p. 46), as corrected by OJ L 295, 13.11.2001, p. 34.

Article 2

The texts of Regulations (EC) No 1920/2001 and (EC) No 1921/2001 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 20 April 2002 provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
