Decision of the EEA Joint Committee
No 97/2000
of 27 October 2000
amending Annex XVIII (health and safety at work, labour law, and equal treatment for men and women) to the EEA Agreement
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as adjusted by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Annex XVIII to the Agreement was amended by Decision No 43/2000 of the EEA Joint Committee of 19 May 2000(1).
(2) Council Directive 1999/63/EC of 21 June 1999 concerning the Agreement on the organisation of working time of seafarers concluded by the European Community Shipowners' Association (ECSA) and the Federation of Transport Workers' Unions in the European Union (FST)(2), is to be incorporated into the Agreement,
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1
The following point shall be inserted after point 32a (Council Directive 1999/70/EC) in Annex XVIII to the Agreement:
"32b. 399 L 0063: Council Directive 1999/63/EC of 21 June 1999 concerning the Agreement on the organisation of working time of seafarers concluded by the European Community Shipowners' Association (ECSA) and the Federation of Transport Workers' Unions in the European Union (FST) (OJ L 167, 2.7.1999, p. 33), as corrected by OJ L 244, 16.9.1999, p. 64."
Article 2
The texts of Directive 1999/63/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 28 October 2000, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(3).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
