amending Annex II (technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex II to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the Joint Committee of the EEA No 9/2001 of 23 February 2001(1).

(2) Commission Directive 2000/72/EC of 22 November 2000 adapting to technical progress Council Directive 93/31/EEC on stands for two-wheel motor vehicles(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Commission Directive 2000/73/EC of 22 November 2000 adapting to technical progress Council Directive 93/92/EEC on the installation of lighting and light-signalling devices on two- and three-wheel motor vehicles(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(4) Commission Directive 2000/74/EC of 22 November 2000 adapting to technical progress Council Directive 93/29/EEC on the identification of controls, tell-tales and indicators for two- and three-wheel motor vehicles(4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

The following indent shall be added in point 45i (Council Directive 93/29/EEC) in Chapter I of Annex II to the Agreement: "- 32000 L 0074: Commission Directive 2000/74/EC of 22 November 2000 (OJ L 300, 29.11.2000, p. 24)."

Article 2

The following indent shall be added in point 45k (Council Directive 93/31/EEC) in Chapter I of Annex II to the Agreement: "- 32000 L 0072: Commission Directive 2000/72/EC of 22 November 2000 (OJ L 300, 29.11.2000, p. 18)."

Article 3

The following indent shall be added in point 45o (Council Directive 93/92/EEC) in Chapter I of Annex II to the Agreement: "- 32000 L 0073: Commission Directive 2000/73/EC of 22 November 2000 (OJ L 300, 29.11.2000, p. 20)."

Article 4

The texts of Directives 2000/72/EC, 2000/73/EC and 2000/74/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 5

This Decision shall enter into force on 20 June 2001, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(5).

Article 6

This Decision shall be published in the EEA section of, and in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities.
