amending Annex I (veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the Joint Committee of the EEA No 71/2000 of 2 October 2000(1).

(2) Commission Regulation (EC) No 654/2000 of 29 March 2000 concerning the authorisation of new additives, new additive uses and new additive preparations in feedingstuffs(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Commission Decision 2000/285/EC of 5 April 2000 amending Decision 91/516/EEC establishing a list of ingredients whose use is prohibited in compound feedingstuffs(3), is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(4) Commission Regulation (EC) No 739/2000 of 7 April 2000 amending Regulation (EC) No 2439/1999 on the conditions for the authorisation of additives belonging to the group "binders, anti-caking agents and coagulants" in feedingstuffs(4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(5) Directive 2000/16/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 10 April 2000 amending Council Directive 79/373/EEC on the marketing of compound feedingstuffs and Council Directive 96/25/EC on the circulation of feed materials(5) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

The following indent shall be added in point 1l (Commission Regulation (EC) No 2439/1999) in Chapter II of Annex I to the Agreement: ", as amended by:

- 32000 R 0739: Commission Regulation (EC) No 739/2000 of 7 April 2000 (OJ L 87, 8.4.2000, p. 14)."

Article 2

The following point shall be inserted after point 1n (Commission Regulation (EC) No 2690/1999) in Chapter II of Annex I to the Agreement: "1o. 32000 R 0654: Commission Regulation (EC) No 654/2000 of 29 March 2000 concerning the authorisation of new additives, new additive uses and new additive preparations in feedingstuffs (OJ L 79, 30.3.2000, p. 26)."

Article 3

The following indent shall be added in point 5 (Council Directive 79/373/EEC) and point 14a (Council Directive 96/25/EC) in Chapter II of Annex I to the Agreement: "- 32000 L 0016: Directive 2000/16/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 10 April 2000 (OJ L 105, 3.5.2000, p. 36)."

Article 4

The following indent shall be added in point 6 (Commission Decision 91/516/EEC) in Chapter II of Annex I to the Agreement: "- 32000 D 0285: Commission Decision 2000/285/EC of 5 April 2000 (OJ L 94, 14.4.2000, p. 43)."

Article 5

The texts of Decision 2000/285/EC, Regulations (EC) No 654/2000 and (EC) No 739/2000 and Directive 2000/16/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 6

This Decision shall enter into force on 11 September 2001, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(6).

Article 7

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
