amending Annex XIII (Transport) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex XIII to the Agreement was amended by Decision No 60/2000 of the EEA Joint Committee of 28 June 2000(1).

(2) Council Resolution 2000/C 56/01 of 14 February 2000 on the promotion of intermodality and intermodal freight transport in the European Union(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Council Resolution 2000/C 56/02 of 14 February 2000 on the promotion of short sea shipping(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

The following points shall be inserted after point 91 (Council Resolution 1999/C 222/01) in Annex XIII to the Agreement:

"92. 32000 Y 0229(01): Council Resolution 2000/C 56/01 of 14 February 2000 on the promotion of intermodality and intermodal freight transport in the European Union (OJ C 56, 29.2.2000, p. 1).

93. 32000 Y 0229(02): Council Resolution 2000/C 56/02 of 14 February 2000 on the promotion of short sea shipping (OJ C 56, 29.2.2000, p. 3)."

Article 2

The texts of Council Resolutions 2000/C 56/01 and 2000/C 56/02 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 31 March 2001, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
