amending Annex VI (Social security) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex VI to the Agreement was amended by Decision No 86/2000 of the EEA Joint Committee of 27 October 2000(1).

(2) Decision of the Administrative Commission of the European Communities on Social Security for Migrant Workers No 176 of 24 June 1999 concerning the reimbursement by the competent institution in a Member State of the costs incurred during a stay in another Member State by means of the procedure referred to in Article 34(4) of Regulation (EEC) No 574/72 (96/249/EC)(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Decision of the Administrative Commission of the European Communities on Social Security for Migrant Workers No 109, presently incorporated in the Agreement, was replaced by Decision No 175,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Annex VI to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1. The text of points 3.16 (Decision No 109) and 3.45 (Decision No 161) shall be deleted.

2. The following point shall be inserted after point 3.54 (Decision No 175):

"3.55 32000 D 0582: Decision No 176 of 24 June 1999 concerning the reimbursement by the competent institution in a Member State of the costs incurred during a stay in another Member State by means of the procedure referred to in Article 34(4) of Regulation (EEC) No 574/72 (96/249/EC) (OJ L 243, 28.9.2000, p. 42)."

Article 2

The texts of Decision No 176 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 31 March 2001, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(3).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
