amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex II to the Agreement was amended by Decision No 3/2001 of the EEA Joint Committee of 31 January 2001(1).

(2) Commission Decision 2000/245/EC of 2 February 2000 on the procedure for attesting the conformity of construction products pursuant to Article 20(4) of Council Directive 89/106/EEC as regards flat glass, profiled glass and glass block products(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Commission Decision 2000/273/EC of 27 March 2000 on the procedure for attesting the conformity of construction products pursuant to Article 20(2) of Council Directive 89/106/EEC as regards seven products for European Technical Approvals without Guideline(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

The following indents shall be added in point 1 (Council Directive 89/106/EEC) in Chapter XXI of Annex II to the Agreement: "- 32000 D 0245: Commission Decision 2000/245/EC of 2 February 2000 (OJ L 77, 28.3.2000, p. 13),

- 32000 D 0273: Commission Decision 2000/273/EC of 27 March 2000 (OJ L 86, 7.4.2000, p. 15)."

Article 2

The texts of Decisions 2000/245/EC and 2000/273/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 24 February 2001, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
