amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as adjusted by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex II to the Agreement was amended by Decision No 51/2000 of the EEA Joint Committee of 28 June 2000(1).

(2) Commission Directive 2000/1/EC of 14 January 2000 adapting to technical progress Council Directive 89/173/EEC as regards certain components and characteristics of wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Commission Directive 2000/2/EC of 14 January 2000 adapting to technical progress Council Directive 75/322/EEC relating to the suppression of radio interference produced by spark-ignition engines fitted to wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors and Council Directive 74/150/EEC relating to the type-approval of wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(4) Commission Decision 2000/63/EC of 18 January 2000 amending Decision 96/627/EC implementing Article 2 of Council Directive 77/311/EEC on the driver-perceived noise level of wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors(4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(5) The adaptation to Council Directive 74/150/EEC of 4 March 1974 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the type-approval of wheeled agricultural forestry tractors needs to be adjusted following the accession of Austria, Finland and Sweden to the European Union,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Point 1 (Council Directive 74/150/EEC) in Chapter II of Annex II to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1. The following indent shall be added:

"- 32000 L 0002: Commission Directive 2000/2/EC of 14 January 2000 (OJ L 21, 26.1.2000, p. 23)."

2. In the adaptation, the first, second and sixth indent, containing the entries for Austria, Finland and Sweden respectively, shall be deleted.

Article 2

The following indent shall be added in point 7 (Council Directive 75/322/EEC) in Chapter II of Annex II to the Agreement:

"- 32000 L 0002: Commission Directive 2000/2/EC of 14 January 2000 (OJ L 21, 26.1.2000, p. 23)."

Article 3

The following indent shall be added in point 10 (Council Directive 77/311/EEC) in Chapter II of Annex II to the Agreement:

"- 32000 D 0063: Commission Decision 2000/63/EC of 18 January 1999 (OJ L 22, 27.1.2000, p. 66)."

Article 4

The following indent shall be added in point 23 (Council Directive 89/173/EEC) in Chapter II of Annex II to the Agreement:

"- 32000 L 0001: Commission Directive 2000/1/EC of 14 January 2000 (OJ L 21, 26.1.2000, p. 16)."

Article 5

The texts of Directives 2000/1/EC and 2000/2/EC and Decision 2000/63/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 6

This Decision shall enter into force on 3 October 2000, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(5).

Article 7

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
