amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as adjusted by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex II to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 26/2000 of 31 March 2000(1).

(2) Council Regulation (EC) No 1804/1999 of 19 July 1999 supplementing Regulation (EEC) No 2092/91 on organic production of agricultural products and indications referring thereto on agricultural products and foodstuffs to include livestock production(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) The adaptations to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2092/91 of 24 June 1991 on organic production of agricultural products(3) need to be adjusted following the accession of Austria, Finland and Sweden to the European Union,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

The following indent is added in point 54b (Council Regulation (EEC) No 2092/91) in Chapter XII of Annex II to the Agreement:

"- 399 R 1804: Council Regulation (EC) No 1804/1999 of 19 July 1999 (OJ L 222, 24.8.1999, p. 1)."

Article 2

In point 54b of Chapter XII of Annex II to the Agreement, the adaptations to Regulation (EEC) No 2092/91 are amended as follows:

1. In adaptation (a), the entries for Finland and Sweden, including the provisions, are deleted.

2. Adaptations (b) and (c) are deleted.

Article 3

The texts of Regulation (EC) No 1804/1999 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, are authentic.

Article 4

This Decision enters into force on 29 June 2000, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).

Article 5

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
