EXCHANGE OF LETTERS

extending an Arrangement relating to point 2 of the Agreement in the form of an exchange of letters between the European Economic Community and the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic on trade in the sheepmeat and goatmeat sector

Letter No 1

Sir,

With reference to the Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the European Economic Community on trade in the sheepmeat and goatmeat sector, signed on 14 June 1982, and in particular to the discussions which have taken place between the two Parties in accordance with point 13 thereof, I have the honour to inform you that, for the duration of that Agreement, the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic will continue to ensure that the marketing of Czechoslovak products within the Community will be conducted in such a manner as to avoid any change in the trends of traditional trade flows to the particular market areas considered as sensitive.

In particular, the competent Czechoslovak authorities will ensure that exports to France and Ireland will be limited each year as follows:

- France: nil,

- Ireland: nil.

I should be grateful if you would kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter.

Please accept, Sir, the assurance of my highest consideration.

For the Government of

the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
