SINGLE DROP EXPERIMENTS The file single_single_drop_impact_EN-AW-7075.txt contains all raw data of single drop impacts onto aluminium, shown in Fig. 1. The file single_drop_impact_1.4841.txt contains all raw data of single drop impacts onto stainless steel,shown in Fig. 2. The raw data have been categorized and averaged in the following way using a custom MATLAB script: 1. categorized by substrate material 2. categorized by impact velocity 3. clustering the measurements by the residence time using the MATLAB function histcounts(t_r,edges); with edges = logspace(1,3,60); 4. averaging t_r and T_0 using the MATLAB function 'mean' for all single drop experiments within a cluster 5. averaging the residence time using the MATLAB function movmean(t_r, k, 'omitnan') over three values (k=3) for stainless steel and two values (k=2) for aluminium The file single_drop_impact_T_star.txt contains the experimental data of single drop experiments, shown in Fig.5 a.
